How to request account deletion
You can permanently delete your Stenote account and all of its associated data at any time, using either of the methods below.
Option 1 — Delete in the Stenote app
- Open the Stenote app and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion. Your account and associated data are permanently removed.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
Email privacy@stenote.ai from the email address associated with your account, using the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Orto Industries LLC will verify your request and delete your account within 30 days (typically within 48 hours).
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:
- Your account and profile information
- All audio recordings and uploaded files
- All transcripts, summaries, chapters, and AI analysis
- Your notes, settings, and usage history tied to your account
What data is kept, and for how long
A limited amount of data may be retained after deletion where we are legally required to keep it or where it is needed to complete a transaction:
- Transaction and billing records: retained as required by tax, accounting, and payment-provider obligations (typically up to 7 years).
- Support communications: retained for up to 3 years for quality assurance.
- Encrypted backups: deleted data may persist in routine system backups for up to 30 days before being automatically overwritten.
Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and analysis are deleted they cannot be recovered.
